These notes document early twentieth-century instruction in Domestic Science at a time when home economics programs were expanding rapidly in schools and normal colleges throughout the United States. They reflect the Progressive Era shift toward “scientific” household management, emphasizing nutrition, physiology, standardized measurements, and methodical food preparation. As a surviving student manuscript, the notebook provides a primary-source record of how this curriculum was taught and practiced at the classroom level.
