Jacket has some rubbing and minor loss at the head and the tail, as pictured. Corners are also worn. Book underneath the jacket is in pristine condition. A Near Fine copy in Very Good- jacket. Even in such excellent condition, this is the lowest priced copy currently on the market.

"The Outside and Others" was not just the first book published by Arkham House, it was the reason for the founding on the press in the first place. It contains one essay about Lovecraft by August Derleth & Donald Wandrei, 36 short stories, and a 28,000-word essay Lovecraft surveying the development and achievements of horror fiction.
