The Sea-Wolf follows Humphrey Van Weyden, an intellectual unaccustomed to hardship, who is rescued at sea by the sealing schooner Ghost. There he encounters the brutal and domineering captain Wolf Larsen, whose physical power and philosophical skepticism clash with Van Weyden’s ideals. The novel becomes both an adventure and a psychological struggle, exploring themes of survival, authority, and the conflict between brute force and moral conviction.
