The first British edition of Harper Lee's landmark novel, published in the same year as the American first edition. Set in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, during the Great Depression, To Kill a Mockingbird explores racial injustice, moral courage, and childhood innocence through the eyes of Scout Finch and the defense of a Black man falsely accused of rape by her father, Atticus Finch. The novel won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1961 and was adapted into the acclaimed 1962 film starring Gregory Peck. The original British dust jacket features illustrated artwork distinct from the American edition, with a photographic portrait of Lee on the rear panel.
