STILLSON, Henry Leonard (editor). History of the Ancient and Honorable Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons and Concordant Orders.

Boston and New York: The Fraternity Publishing Company; London: George Kenning, 1906. Illustrated edition. 10" x 7.5", 904pp. Original dark green pebbled cloth, spine lettered in gilt with Masonic device stamped in silver. Profusely illustrated with engraved and halftone plates, including portraits and architectural views (Roslin Chapel, Scotland, among others). Light rubbing at extremities, minor spotting and small marks to spine, binding sound and square; contents clean with occasional faint toning. Includes a blank, vintage membership interest form tucked inside front cover. Very Good.

A substantial early twentieth-century survey of the Craft, edited by Henry Leonard Stillson with William James Hughan as European editor. The work traces legendary and documentary origins, the evolution of lodges in Britain and America, and the development of concordant bodies. Heavily illustrated and produced for a fraternal readership, it reflects the period’s blend of archival ambition and romantic medievalism. A solid, attractive example of a cornerstone Masonic reference.
