GRAHAME, Kenneth. The Wind in the Willows.
New York: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1925. First Nancy Barnhart illustrated edition. 8.25” x 6.25”, illustrated throughout with full-page black-and-white illustrations and mounted color plates by Nancy Barnhart (12 in total). Publisher’s original blue cloth pictorially stamped in black and gilt. A charming early American illustrated edition, notable for Barnhart’s vivid color plates and decorative full-page monochrome illustrations. Binding worn with rubbing to extremities, scattered discoloration to cloth, and some fraying at spine ends. Internally complete; several leaves show foxing and tide-marking, with one black-and-white full-page illustration torn with the detached portion present and retained. Color plates remain bright and attractive. Rear hinge starting. Good+.
