Illustrated edition. 7.5" x 6", xvi + 517pp. Publisher’s pictorial brown cloth, front board stamped in black and gilt depicting Crusoe seated at table with animals, spine lettered and decorated in gilt with island vignette. Illustrated with numerous engravings throughout the text. Title page lacking. A divot to the center of the front board affecting part of the pictorial design; fraying at spine ends and corners; text block complete and internally clean with attractive illustrations. Hinges starting. Despite the missing title page, this remains a visually striking Victorian decorative binding example and displays beautifully. Good.
