Originally published in 1972, The Halloween Tree is Bradbury’s classic meditation on the history and meaning of Halloween, following a group of boys who travel through time to uncover the festival’s ancient roots. The book grew out of a script Bradbury wrote for an unproduced Chuck Jones animated project, and was later adapted into a 1993 animated film for television narrated by Bradbury himself.
