This celebrated six-act verse drama first performed at the Théâtre Sarah-Bernhardt on 15 March 1900, centered on Napoleon II, the Duke of Reichstadt. A visually striking early edition of Rostand’s major follow-up to Cyrano de Bergerac, notable for its elegant Napoleonic binding design and strong association with Sarah Bernhardt, who created the title role on stage.
