Externally quite clean with just a slight forward cocking. Frontispiece loose at lower half, FFEP missing a chunk from upper right corner, some mild foxing, and owner signature on FFEP. Very Good-.

Randolph Caldecott (1846–1886) was one of the most celebrated illustrators of the Victorian era, best known for transforming children’s book illustration with his lively, narrative style. His work so defined the field that the American Library Association later named its prestigious annual award for illustration, the Caldecott Medal, in his honor.
