Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a novella introducing Holly Golightly, a young woman navigating New York society with charm and ambiguity. Capote’s text is more bittersweet and less romantic than its popular 1961 film adaptation, which softened Holly’s character and gave the story a Hollywood ending. The contrast between book and film has made the work a lasting subject of discussion in both literary and cinematic circles. The book also includes three short stories - “House of Flowers,” “A Diamond Guitar,” and “A Christmas Memory” - which showcase Capote’s lyrical style in different settings.
