The Game tells the story of Joe Fleming, a young working-class boxer, and his fiancée Genevieve, who fears for his safety in the ring. On the night of their wedding, Joe insists on fighting one last match before retiring, but the brutal bout ends tragically. Through their story, London explores themes of love, masculinity, and the harsh realities of sport and labor in early 20th-century America.
