Imperial-Royal Dream Book, and the Imperial-Royal Fortune Teller, and Book of Fate.
London: Published for the Booksellers, n.d./c1880–1900. 6.75" x 4.75", 160 + 176pp.. A compact Victorian divination manual combining dream interpretation, fortune telling, physiognomy, and fate books, issued in decorative red cloth. The upper board is lettered “Dream Book / Book of Fate / Fortune Telling” in gilt within an ornamental panel; the spine gilt-lettered “Imperial Royal Dream Book and Fortune Teller,” with additional decorative tooling. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece and ornamental title-page borders; text printed on toned paper typical of the period. Bright cloth with light edge wear and minor rubbing at spine ends; gilt remains strong. Light, even toning throughout and occasional faint marginal spotting. Minor separation starting between a couple signatures. Very Good-.
A representative example of late nineteenth-century popular divination literature, reflecting contemporary interest in predictive manuals intended for domestic entertainment rather than formal study.
