Publisher’s green pictorial cloth, lettered in gilt and decorated in yellow and black, in the original printed dust jacket. Cloth exceptionally clean and bright, without the usual rubbing; binding tight and square. Gift inscription to front free endpaper. Dust jacket worn, lacking a 1" section at upper spine panel and chipped along edges, with toning and creasing; still present and serviceable. Book Very Good+; jacket Fair.

A late posthumous Alcott issue, collecting a short domestic tale in the tradition of her enduring juvenile fiction. Copies retaining the original dust jacket are uncommon, particularly in conjunction with such a fresh, unrubbed cloth binding, making this a notably appealing survival despite the expected losses to the fragile jacket.
