Originally published individually throughout the mid-1840s, this is the first edition containing all five of Dickens's Christmas Books: "A Christmas Carol", "The Chimes", "The Cricket on the Hearth", "The Haunted Man's Bargain", and "The Battle of Life". Quarter black calf leather over marbled boards. Five raised bands and gilt decoration/titling on spine. Strings showing at both hinges but binding is strong. Rubbing to marbling on both boards. Occasional spotting throughout but nothing obtrusive. Torn lower corner of page 13/14 but no loss of text. Overall, Very Good and quite rare.
